Welcome to Penrose Water Gardens, one of Cornwall's loveliest days out and until now also one of Cornwall's best kept secrets. Established for over forty years it is set within a beautiful woodland valley two and a half miles from Truro, in the centre of Cornwall.

Opening Hours

Monday to Saturday 8.30 - 4.30 Sunday 10.00 - 4.00

Charges

Admission is free to the gardens and includes free car parking.

Disabled Facilities

We cater for the disabled; if you have any queries please contact us.

Children

We welcome children but advise you that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. We have an enclosed play area at the back of the tea rooms.

Smoking

We operate a no smoking policy throughout the grounds.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome in the Gardens on a lead and well-behaved dogs are welcome inside.

The Lily (Licensed Tearooms) at Penrose Water Gardens is open to the public seven days a week.

8.30am - 4.30pm Monday - Saturday

10.00am - 4.00pm Sundays

Here you can enjoy delicious refreshments on the beautiful veranda overlooking some of the 40 stunning lily ponds.

We serve coffees, a wide selection of fresh home-made cakes, Cornish clotted cream teas and delicious meals all cooked in our kitchen.

Sunday Roasts available for £8.50 per person - bookings preferred, please call on 01872 222307.  ***Please note that we cannot accept email bookings ***

Wildlife at Penrose Water Gardens

Wildlife is a real speciality of Penrose Water Gardens - you can see more on the Wildlife pages, but our regular visitors include many beautiful song-birds, kingfishers, herons, foxes and possibly even the local Otter.

In early summer, dragon and damsel flies and many other varieties of insects are abundant.
